Responsibilities
As a Skilled Care Billing Specialist, concentration is on billing and collections to provide excellent accounts receivable recovery. This position will be responsible for creating and filing all Managed Care, Medicare, and PVI claims. The Skilled Care Billing Specialist will perform tasks to ensure the systematic and timely resolution of all accounts with the ability to follow-up and document all collection activity in the accounting system.

Responsibilities
As a Skilled Care Billing Specialist, concentration is on billing and collections to provide excellent accounts receivable recovery. This position will be responsible for creating and filing all Managed Care, Medicare, and PVI claims. The Skilled Care Billing Specialist will perform tasks to ensure the systematic and timely resolution of all accounts with the ability to follow-up and document all collection activity in the accounting system.
- Associates Degree preferred, will consider an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
- 1 year’s prior Medical Billing and Collections experience required with SNF Managed Care and Medicare experience preferred along with experience using Point Click Care (PCC).
- Ability to adapt rapidly to different systems and software with proficiency.
- Clerical ability required to detect and avoid errors in posting figures between accounts.
- Good interpersonal skills are needed to effectively work with other team members, insurance companies and MAC’s, and outside agencies.
- Promote understanding of complex systems/processes.
- Ability to perform analysis and respond appropriately to findings and conclusions.
- Knowledge and understanding of Managed Care Payer Contracts as well as billing guidelines, and policies for the facilities they are assigned for both Managed Care, Medicare, and PVI.
- Idea generation/suggestion for alternative processes surrounding the Skilled Care Billing process to achieve better efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work with facility Business Office personnel to ensure adequate communication with MDS and Therapy related personnel to ensure timely billing of Managed Care and Medicare claims, ensuring all necessary certifications and required MDS assessments are completed in order for timely billing.
- Maintain past due balances below established goal.
- Knowledge with PCC billing functionality and maintaining billing notes in PCC.
