Responsibilities
The Mental Health Technician will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and enforcing compliance with unit rules and regulations
- Providing supportive behavior when assisting in the control of patients who exhibit unacceptable behavior
- Demonstrating ability to employ de-escalation, crisis intervention, and therapeutic interventions as needed
- Completing unit safety checks and inventorying patient belongings accurately
- Complying with standard/universal precautions and infection control policies
Additional responsibilities include implementing patient care activities under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, performing vital signs and ADL monitoring, and communicating findings to the nurse.
