JOB SUMMARY:
The Food Processing Operations Manager is a pivotal role within our Food Processing Sanitation Group, responsible for overseeing sanitation operations, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, and supporting the performance of DBS onsite supervisors and sanitation teams. With 75% of your time spent overnight in our customers' food processing plants across the United States and 25% in the DBS office, you will drive operational excellence, maintain food safety standards, and support the growth of new accounts.
This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and is integral to ensuring DBS delivers the highest level of sanitation services, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership & Compliance:
- Provide tools, guidance, and support to onsite supervisors to ensure timely and effective completion of sanitation services.
- Oversee adherence to customer SSOPs, USDA, FDA, and GMP compliance requirements, and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Monitor sanitation schedules, ensure master sanitation services are on track, and address any Pre-Op corrections needed.
- Maintain proper inventory levels of cleaning supplies and sanitation chemicals to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans and process improvements to enhance plant sanitation and productivity.
Training & Development:
- Train and develop sanitation staff on food processing sanitation protocols, safety standards, and operational best practices.
- Manage training schedules for new and existing employees, ensuring all staff are prepared to meet customer and regulatory expectations.
- Create and implement pictorial work instructions based on customer SSOPs and onsite observations.
- Work closely with the safety supervisor to maintain a safe and compliant work environment for all sanitation staff.
Customer Engagement & Support
- Serve as the primary contact for addressing customer concerns and participating in weekly sanitation review meetings via Teams.
- Support new account openings by collaborating with the operations team and traveling to customer facilities nationwide.
- Observe sanitation operations at potential customer sites and develop staffing models tailored to their needs.
- Assist with customer audits (SQF/FDA) and ensure technical specifications are communicated effectively to the onsite team.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- You enjoy performing sanitation services on the 3rd shift.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College education or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Proven experience as a lead/supervisor in food processing sanitation.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Availability to meet the needs of the business, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
