JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supervisor to join our team in Gaston County, NC. As a Food Processing Sanitation Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and health standards within a food production facility. The ideal candidate will assist the Area Manager in coordinating service operations, building and maintaining strong client and internal relationships, overseeing training programs, conducting inspections, and ensuring that the highest standards of service and safety are consistently upheld across the facility. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, implementing management decisions effectively within your area of responsibility, and focusing on key operational priorities. This role is for a third-shift position which demands flexibility and adaptability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational

  • Coordinate and oversee daily service operations and activities.
  • Train employees in cleaning techniques, food processing sanitation, and safety protocols.
  • Schedule and manage the training of sanitation employees.
  • Inspect work areas and facilities to ensure they meet high cleanliness standards.
  • Implement company policies to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
  • Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and disinfectants.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of cleaning schedules and regularly update sanitation standard operating procedures (SOPs & Work Instructions).
  • Conduct workplace audits to ensure compliance with FDA regulations.
  • Utilize reporting tools to measure and track operational improvements.
  • Apply root cause analysis techniques to identify and prevent nonconformances.
  • Set performance goals and deadlines in line with the company’s strategic plans and vision.
  • Organize workflow, ensuring employees understand their duties and delegated tasks.
  • Monitor employee productivity, providing constructive feedback and coaching as necessary.
  • Address and resolve complaints efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping and personnel records.
  • Facilitate communication between upper management and employees.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive performance reports.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new employees.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, administering disciplinary action when required.
  • Perform other projects and related duties as assigned.

Workplace & Environment

  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment, coordinating with suppliers or customers to place orders as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency.
  • Respond to urgent service needs and provide hands-on support.
  • Facilitate effective communication between supervisors, staff, and the Area Manager.

Client & Internal Relationships

  • Build and maintain client and internal relationships.
  • Address and resolve operational issues.
  • Assist in starting services in new facilities, ensuring smooth transitions and high service quality.
  • Support the Area Manager in various administrative tasks, special projects, and strategic initiatives.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience as a supervisor or in a relevant role within the service industry, particularly in food processing or facilities management, is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn a variety of job descriptions and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a solution-focused approach.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective client and internal relationships.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and travel as required.
  • Availability to meet the needs of the business, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
