Position Summary:
As a Crew Member at DCI, you’ll be an integral part of a field installation team responsible for assembling and installing conveyor systems primarily in airport environments. This includes baggage handling conveyor systems used in secure and fast-paced terminal operations. You’ll work hands-on with mechanical equipment, tools, and system components, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and according to DCI quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation, assembly, and alignment of conveyor equipment and structures at customer job sites—primarily airports.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and layout plans.
- Operate hand and power tools to cut, drill, fasten, and install structural steel, belting, motors, and other system components.
- Support system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting under direction from the site supervisor or lead installer.
- Follow all DCI safety policies and OSHA regulations on-site, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain clean and organized job site conditions.
- Work as part of a team with other crew members, contractors, and subcontractors to achieve project milestones.
- Travel frequently to project sites, often for extended periods, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1 years of mechanical, construction, or conveyor installation experience is preferred—but we will train the right candidate.
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments, including tight spaces and heights.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and operate basic tools and machinery.
- Willingness to travel extensively, sometimes with short notice.
- Previous experience working in secure environments like airports is a plus.
- Must pass required background checks and security clearances for airport access.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with conveyor systems, motors, sensors, or baggage handling equipment.
- Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certifications are a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
