In 2021, Diversified announced our expansion into our Central Regional Focus Area, which includes producing areas within Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
The Pipeline Technician ensures the integrity and reliability of pipelines, pipeline cathodic protection equipment, responsible for fielding & closing out one calls, and operations and maintenance of pipelines. Special focus will be placed on:
- Ensure that pipelines are mapped, marked, and in overall good condition
- Field, check, mark lines, and close out all one calls that are entered into the One-Call System Surveillance on construction jobs where our lines are crossed by other pipelines
- Pig pipelines when needed Assist to maintain typical pipeline equipment, valves, etc
- Help to determine if any pipelines should be considered DOT Regulated
- Assure that all cathodic protection is in good working condition
- Complete applicable reporting and electronic documentation of key operating data
- Communicate at a technical level and interface with Construction and Production Foremen
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Must be able to prioritize tasks
- Possess strong communication skills
- Capable of physical duties in an outdoor environment
- Working knowledge of pipeline systems as well as associated equipment and valves
- Experience with cathodic protection systems and pipeline locating devices
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Position requires use of hands and fingers to hold or feel, reach with hands and arms, walk, talk, smell and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, crouch and crawl.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Involves lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Position is exposed to outside weather conditions.
