Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Custodian/Janitor to join our part-time team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. They will also follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and other objects.
The Custodian/Janitor will clean, monitor and maintain restrooms, fitting rooms, corridors, and store entrance areas. This includes emptying trash cans for proper disposal and using compactor for certain materials. Additionally, they will clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have prior cleaning experience and be able to spot clean carpets, assist in carpet extractions and shampooing. They must also replenish paper products and sanitary supplies, and follow the housekeeping schedule. Occasionally, they may be required to use heavy cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers.
Requirements
To be successful as a Custodian/Janitor, you must be at least 18 years of age or older, reliable, authorized to work in the United States, and able to pass a drug test in some situations. Some prior cleaning experience is desirable.
