POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing a variety of maintenance services to multiple locations. Individual should have an overall knowledge of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tiling, and painting. Work generally occurs in a retail store environment with moderate temperature and noise level.
CORE FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
- Assists with all aspects of maintenance and repair within assigned facilities.
- Basic repair and installation tasks to include hanging pictures, installing doors and windows, painting, flooring, tiling, and countertops, handrails, gutters, and power washing, minor building repairs, minor car wash maintenance & cleaning, and power washing.
- Ongoing preventive maintenance duties to include changing furnace & water filters, changing lights, cutting, and changing ceiling tiles & floor tiles, gasoline pump maintenance, changing pump filters, hoses, and handles.
- Ensures systems and facilities remain in compliance with local codes.
- Tests, maintains, calibrates, and evaluates equipment by using instrumentation
- Performs all duties in a safe manner in accordance with established work standards and safety guidelines.
- Operates machinery such as pumps, motors, compressors, compactors, and power tools.
- Training of store team members in preventative maintenance
- Uses company email, website and phone apps to receive, process, prioritize and update facility and maintenance communication.
- Demonstrates understanding of store priorities and can anticipate changes.
- Shows initiative in problem solving.
- Can readily adjust to changing conditions.
- Keeps store management informed of store conditions and decisions made.
- Make suggestions and recommendations for improvements.
- Assists in managing loss prevention functions for the stores in order to minimize losses and to ensure safe shopping and working conditions.
- Participates as a member of the safety committee.
- Observes sales floor conditions and displays potential hazards and ensures prompt attention as necessary.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Ability to interpret building schematics, prints, and manuals.
- Effective customer service skills both in person and over the phone to employees, participants and other internal/external customers required.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required. Writes clearly and informatively, editing work for spelling and grammar, and varies writing style to meet needs.
- General knowledge of principles and practices related to maintenance, facility management and fuel dispensing systems
- Basic math skills generally obtained at the high school level.
- Able to read and interpret written information and communicate that information to users when necessary.
- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Listens and seeks clarification.
- Responds well to questions and participates in meetings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience in maintenance and repair.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Lifting of 60 pounds on an occasional basis
- Pushing/pulling of at least 75 pounds
- Full range of upper body motion
- Frequent stopping, bending, squatting, kneeling, walking, reaching turning, climbing stairs/ladders
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors. May also be exposed to variable weather situations.
- Frequent travel between stores will be required.
