JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for end-to-end design and development of power electronics and motor solutions for multiple mobile and stationary applications.
- Ensure that Power Electronics and Motor components meet or exceed customer requirements through proactive validation planning, rigor and verification testing.
- Act as a subject matter expert to aid Project Leads / Design Engineers in validation of their components.
- Act as a form of checks and balances to Design Engineers and lead documenting and disseminating validation best practices across the organization, shifting focus from reactive to proactive.
- Serve as the unbiased auditor of the program, communicating program risks and planned mitigation.
- Responsible for validation planning and risk assessments across multiple NPI programs and utilize FMEA based planning, Proactive Reliability, and PPRD to ensure proper validation of components and systems.
- Establish validation excellence in the power electronics and motors domain, delivering world-class solutions, and mentoring and coaching team members.
- Attend project execution team meetings for assigned NPI/NTI projects.
- Assess new content, develop high-level test plans, and supplement high-level plans with detailed FMEA-based DVP&R.
- Present in Design Reviews and Gate Reviews on Validation Readiness.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or related engineering field with 5 years’ experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with electric drive systems and/or components, with focus on electric induction motor and generator and resistor grids.
- Experience with structured FMEA and DVP&R processes.
- Experience with NPI Issue resolution process.
- Previous design and/or test experience with these specific components.
- Previous product development experience (design, validation/test or analysis).
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with NPI Programs and Processes.
- 9 years’ experience.
SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:
