What are the responsibilities and job description for the Eligibility Specialist position at Diversified Services Network?
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Eligibility Specialist to help secure SSI/SSA benefits for children in foster care with disabilities (mental and/or physical). This role requires strong focus, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, as you will be working closely with caseworkers, foster parents, Social Security staff, and disability determination adjudicators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 100-200 cases, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Submit at least 15 applications per month after completing training.
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including caseworkers, foster families, and Social Security representatives.
- Maintain detailed and organized records to track case progress.
- Utilize computer systems and software for data entry, case tracking, and correspondence.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently and meet monthly application targets.
- Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to learn new software systems.
- Previous Social Security Benefits background is desirable but not required.
- Associate degree or higher is required.
- Caseworker experience is a plus, but not required.
