The Equipment Operator is responsible for equipment maintenance and operation while achieving benchmarks of construction. Qualified Operators assists in the placing, rearranging, and removing Hand Holes, conduit, cable lines, and drops. You'll work with cables and conduit to perform installation of new build on outside plant equipment. As a Operator, you’ll assist in training crew Laborers on Equipment operation and Knowledge of the system. Most often, you'll work outside as part of a team performing installation, maintenance and repair on facilities that start from outside the Central Office (CO) and stop at the terminal or at a customer's building.
The OSP Construction Foreman is responsible for leading the crews and achieving benchmarks of construction. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
- Ability to direct individuals and lead a team.
- Provide supervision and planning for the successful completion of placement and installation of fiber and conduit.
- Operate proficiently (backhoe, mini excavator, trencher, cable pullers, etc.)
- Perform duties of operator and/or laborer when required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determine the best standards-based method of construction, required manpower, equipment, material and timelines needed along with quality control.
- Coordinate with others involved; direct and end customers, engineers, internal company management and employees and possibly other contractors.
- Organize and monitor the work of all crew personnel for timely job completion and compliance with company, customer and industry standards and specifications.
- Ensure completion of the job(s) with quality, timeliness, and safety.
- Provide management with proper, timely, and complete job documentation and project updates as required.
- Must have an understanding of the following; basic utility construction processes, possess a working knowledge of customers' specifications and OSHA standards.
- Must ensure that both he/she and all employees under his/her supervision comply with proper safety standards/ procedures and work practices according to OSHA standards, Diversified Solutions, and/or the customer, whichever standard is higher.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- Experience (3 years) in conduit placement, aerial construction, fiber placement, hand hole placement, fiber.
- Equipment operating experience (cable plow, backhoe, mini excavator, trencher, cable pullers, etc.)
- Must have a clear and valid driver’s license.
- Must have hands on knowledge of underground and aerial fiber optic systems construction.
- Pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and clean motor vehicle record is mandatory.
