Role Summary: The Rolling Asset Manager will work directly with drivers, operations, and management to achieve optimal equipment performance while maintaining a cost per mile that meets or beats industry standards. This role involves recommending equipment specs based on company history, operations, and safety, monitoring fuel performance, coaching drivers to improve fuel economy, and ensuring all transportation equipment meets or exceeds safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Rolling Assets: Monitor fuel performance, review fuel network compliance, and ensure transportation equipment safety
- Dedicated Fleet: Develop the dedicated division through sales of new accounts and expand current operations
- Fuel Economy: Evaluate driver/equipment performance, recommend improvements, and report monthly fuel economy
- DTS Equipment: Evaluate equipment life, develop relationships with vendors, and manage maintenance schedules
- Driver Performance: Train drivers to optimize fuel efficiency, manage driver pay and time off, and report safety bonus deductions
- Cost Control: Review vendor repair bills, monitor warranty billing, and negotiate preferred labor rates
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Continuous learning and growth of current knowledge base
Skills & Experience:
- Critical thinking, sound professional judgment, and decision-making
- Proven customer support experience
- Intermediate working knowledge of computer systems and software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent leadership skills
