What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Utility Planner position at Diversified Utility Services, Inc.?
As a Utility Planner II, you will perform various planning and design activities including fielding, pole loading, preparing a BOM, mapping and quality reviews of the project for our major Utility Customers. You will also be responsible to monitor and maintain your project schedules, report changes that affect the schedule and budget, identify risks that may affect schedule and costs, and present opportunities to improve the design and construction of various project types. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
· Under minimal supervision, plan overhead and/or underground electrical transmission/distribution facilities.
· Acquire field data as necessary working with field surveying crews and assigned design or project lead.
· Prepare pole loading (SPIDA), design sketches, drawings, calculations, bills of material and any other required documents for construction. This could include plan and profiles, structure loadings, design details, trench and conduit drawings, and equipment specifications.
· Apply client’s standards, guidelines, & specifications in addition to industry standards in
preparing the design of overhead and/or underground electric distribution facilities.
· Communicate with client and engineers on project requirements.
· Exhibit strong written and verbal communication.
· Ability to work in the field and travel at minimum 50% of the time.
