The primary responsibility of the Industrial Engineer is to ensure accuracy and integrity within distribution processes, while also identifying opportunities to sustain current operations and plan for future growth. This position will develop and implement systems that enhance efficiency, reduce costs and safety hazards, and maintain performance standards.

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Industrial Engineer is to ensure accuracy and integrity within distribution processes, while also identifying opportunities to sustain current operations and plan for future growth. This position will develop and implement systems that enhance efficiency, reduce costs and safety hazards, and maintain performance standards.
Essential Duties
- Analyzes current warehouse processes to identify inefficiencies and areas of improvement.
- Develops and implements strategies to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Leads and manages process improvement projects from inception to completion. Ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Collects and analyzes data related to warehouse operations. Utilizes statistical methods and software tools to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Applies Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Trains and mentors team members on these methodologies.
- Evaluates and recommends new technologies and automation solutions to improve warehouse efficiency. Oversees the implementation of new systems and tools.
- Collaborates with cross functional teams, including warehouse staff, IT, and supply chain management, to ensure seamless integration of process improvements.
- Develops and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of process improvements. Reports on progress and outcomes and senior management.
- Ensures all process improvements comply with safety regulations and company policies. Promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the warehouse.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- 5 - 7 years of experience as an industrial engineer in a distribution environment
- Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated experience developing Standard Operating Procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with WMS/LMS systems such as Blue Yonder
- Excellent project management skills as well as strong investigative skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to work on multiple projects and stay within scope, schedule, and quality specifications
- Successful track record of building buy-in to drive change by influencing others, modeling change, and leveraging technology
- Strong ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance standards
- Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment
- Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with employees on all levels, including executive leadership, as well as external vendors and consultants
- Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) Certification
