Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Quality Control Technician is to examine and evaluate raw materials, in-process materials, and final products to detect flaws, damage, or deviations from set standards. This role involves assessing the physical attributes of components, materials, machinery, and products against technical standards to detect any defects. Moreover, the Technician will perform basic tests (such as assessing electrical functionality, reliability, and packaging quality), documenting findings, and creating straightforward technical reports. Furthermore, the position includes overseeing quality control inspections during production and collaborating with the Production team to address any identified concerns.

Job Summary

Essential Duties
- Adheres to all plant and company safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment.
- Conducts thorough plan walkthroughs to identify opportunities for improvements.
- Monitors and manages nonconforming products within the plant and reports anomalies or concerns promptly.
- Collaborates with line operators and plant management to address deviations from specifications.
- Identifies and logs product defects in the designated database.
- Utilizes suitable testing equipment to evaluate products efficiently.
- Prepares and tests samples according to specified requirements.
- Documents and records test results, comparing them with predetermined standards.
- Participates in training plant staff on quality work instructions and procedures.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date quality inspection records.
- Ensures that calibrated devices are validated and assists in recalibration efforts.
- Conducts incoming inspections as required.
- Assists in investigations related to corrective and preventative actions.
- Gathers trial data as instructed.
- Maintains a comprehensive quality assurance database (e.g. Excel, Word, SharePoint, or other system) for all tested product information.
- Consistently achieves assigned production standards.
- Proactively seeks improvements in applicable company systems.
- Utilizes appropriate testing equipment to assess products effectively.
- Maintains organization and cleanliness of work area, ensuring no safety hazards exist.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 – 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Basic Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint)
- Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
- Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Valid Driver’s License
- Associate degree in related field
- Plastics or Colorant experience
- Prior experience in quality control
