Job Summary: The client is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Rail Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the operational efficiency of our rail component maintenance processes. You will utilize your CNC machining expertise alongside your understanding of mechanical and electrical systems to maintain and repair vital rail equipment. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and reliability of the rail industry.
Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines used for rail component maintenance (e.g., lathes, mills, drills).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including working with heavy-duty springs and various machine parts.
- Identify and resolve electrical issues, including experience with motors, relays, and other electrical components.
- Work with and maintain equipment utilizing coil technology, such as eddy current testing systems for defect detection.
- Perform CNC machining operations (milling, turning, drilling) as needed for the repair and maintenance of rail wheels, axles, structural components, and parts for rail maintenance equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and engineers to ensure efficient operations.
- Potentially assist with minor coiling-related tasks within the maintenance context.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC Technician, preferably in a maintenance or repair environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with electrical components, including motors and relays, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with or understanding of equipment utilizing coils (e.g., sensors, testing equipment) is a plus.
- Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machines (specific controls may vary).
- Experience in the rail industry or with heavy industrial equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
