- Monitor and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
- Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses and provide solutions.
- Report onbreakeven pointsby product, work center, and plant.
- Report on variances and their causes, focusing on material cost variance and labor rate variance.
- Review, process, and provide cost impact analysis for Engineering Change Notices.
- Review and updatestandard costsin thebill of materials.
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.Provide analysis and reporting of variances.
- Assist with annual standard cost updates.
- As part of the month-end close, prepare journal entries related to inventory and WIP, conduct account reconciliation, prepare variance analysis, and project closing / analysis.
- Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
- Coordinate physical inventory counts andcycle counts. Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues.
- Work with the operations team to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory.
- Serve as cost accounting liaison with both internal and external auditors.
- Update and review cost accounting work instructions and SOPs as needed.
- Participate on project teams, serving as primary Finance contact for Engineered-to-Order projects.Provide key work cell performance data to Engineering and Operations.Analyze and communicate budget-to-actual project performance to senior management.
- Prepare financial / inventory reports and provide explanations to variance / causes as needed.
- Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
