The Material Planner coordinates and manages the execution of manufacturing requirements to meet production schedules and business objectives. This role ensures accurate processing of manufacturing orders, resolves material and capacity issues, and maintains efficient workflows using ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and issue manufacturing orders in alignment with the Master Production Schedule.
- Monitor and resolve material and capacity issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Identify and communicate scheduling challenges while providing solutions.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage production capacities and ensure accurate system transactions.
- Ensure timely processing of orders to optimize resource use and minimize inventory costs.
Education:
- Associate degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field, or 5 years of related experience.
- High school diploma with 8 years of job-related experience.
Experience:
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing planning, scheduling, or production control in an MRP environment.
- Experience with ERP systems (BAAN preferred).
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or a related certification is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and scheduling.
- Ability to analyze and interpret production data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
