The Field Supervisor is a key leader who combines both leadership and hands-on management to oversee and participate in operations at our branch. They work closely with Operations Managers to supervise field staff during evening shifts and ensure all scheduled jobs are completed on time. The Field Supervisor’s role is to make sure every task is finished, and that all evening processes are properly wrapped up before the job is complete and reviewed by our Client Experience Coordinators.
Field Supervisors are often the first point of support for field employees facing issues with procedures or equipment. This means the Field Supervisor will actively manage and help with night jobs, providing on-site supervision and assistance, route equipment and supplies as needed and even help repair equipment if needed. It requires someone who enjoys multi-tasking!
The ideal candidate will be able to balance managing teams in person while handling administrative responsibilities. The Field Supervisor must be an excellent communicator, able to interact with employees, management, clients, and others. It’s also crucial to maintain high service quality and help train new employees to follow company standards.
We’re looking for someone who has experience leading teams, is calm under pressure, and is committed to continuous improvement for themselves and their team.
Requirements:Job Responsibilities:
- Implement the operations schedule and work ticket requirements each night, ensuring it aligns with the scope of work and any unique client needs, including emergency or after-hours work orders.
- Ensure field employees have the knowledge and training they need to successfully complete their jobs.
- Pre-Load vans and travel to job sites to prepare for challenging or complex tasks, managing site logistics and security ahead of the team’s arrival.
- Perform walk-throughs of client job sites, with or without clients, to assess surfaces and record measurements. These notes should be entered into the company’s system for future planning.
- Drive a company vehicle and inspect work being done on-site.
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment following OSHA and company safety standards.
- Regularly engage with employees and clients to handle complaints and resolve any issues.
- Communicate supply par levels to the appropriate team member.
- Keep spare parts available to prevent delays due to equipment failures.
- Provide daily reports on key metrics, employee hours, materials used, and other relevant details.
- Attend operations and safety meetings to review performance and safety standards.
- Work with HR to assist in the hiring and selection process.
- Provide input on technician performance, including any additional training needed.
- Supervise the organization and cleanliness of storage areas.
- Track equipment, chemicals, and other resources to ensure proper usage.
- Ensure chemicals are correctly labeled in the warehouse and on-site.
- Lead by example, motivating and encouraging Floor Care Technicians.
Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in the commercial maintenance industry.
- Driver's License and good driving record.
- Strong background in scheduling and supervising teams.
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze issues in the field.
- Willingness to travel overnight for specialized training or jobs.
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage time and multiple projects effectively.
- A complete understanding of company operations and how service delivery aligns with company values and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coaching teams and providing training to help staff grow.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
