At APEX, a Diverzify company, we believe our associates are at the heart of our organization. As a Flooring Maintenance Technician, you will work on different types of floors for our clients, such as wood, vinyl, linoleum, tile, and carpet. You will make sure the floors are clean and shiny by using various methods, such as dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, and bonneting. You will also manage the removal of old floors and the installation of new ones using standard tools and materials. You should have experience in flooring installation, carpentry, or concrete work. You should also be able to work on both large and small projects in commercial and industrial settings.

Here’s What You Can Expect In This Role…
- Assess work sites to determine possible issues and make recommendations accordingly
- Oversee, manage and direct all maintenance procedures and operations
- Ensure all machinery is up to working standards
- Assess current maintenance work processes to optimize efficiency
- Manage proactively
- Use data analysis to help prepare for and prevent future problems
- Create and implement measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs (performing quality checks of all machinery, tools, equipment, etc)
- Troubleshoot problem areas and create a clear plan of action for fixing necessary parts
- Oversee repairs
- Train new employees in maintenance work processes and procedures
- Create a work environment with safety as a high priority
- Perform evaluations of employees to ensure the quality of work
- Record and track daily progress/error reports
- Maintain vendor relationships and order new materials as needed
- Create and adhere to maintenance budgets
- Enforce all health and safety rules and regulations according to state/federal laws and company protocol
- Use hand and power tools to install flooring materials according to client specifications.
- Complete work orders as requested by the Installation Supervisor to include maintenance duties as assigned
- Assist with the maintenance of all areas of the community
- Assist with maintenance of service equipment
- Assist with maintenance of preventative maintenance
- Conduct daily inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment
- Promote the safety of clients, visitors, and associates by identifying and resolving potential hazards
- Work alongside other Flooring Installers while emphasizing safety and efficient use of time and materials
- Inspect finished work to ensure customer satisfaction and the highest possible standards of work
- Advise clients on proper care and maintenance of products after installation projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma or GED certificate
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift upwards of 50 pounds
- Flexible schedule
- 6 months of work experience in a position handling residential maintenance item
- Thorough understanding of building and fire safety
- Prior experience as a flooring maintenance manager
- Comprehensive knowledge of flooring materials and installation techniques
- Keen attention to detail
