We are looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team at Divine Dental of North Scottsdale. The selected candidate will become part of a one doctor, one hygiene general dentistry office where we consider each crew member family. Our office environment is stress-free and supportive, with everyone pitching in to help one another. Our office hours are Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm and Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Manage dental and medical records of patients.
- Setup and sterilize dental instruments and equipment before each use.
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays).
- Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
- Provide patients with postoperative instructions as prescribed by the dentist.
- Manage supply inventory and ensure that supplies do not run out.
- Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer.
- Communicate with patients and suppliers (scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies).
- Help to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and oral surgery.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in chairside assisting, back office, taking x-rays, and sterilization processes.
- Proven experience handling dental instruments and understanding sterilization techniques.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assistant program preferred.
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
- Experience with dental practice management software is highly desirable.
- Current CPR certification.
