What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher position at Divine Mercy Academy?
Divine Mercy Academy is seeking a trained Montessori elementary guide to lead one of our two elementary classrooms. Divine Mercy Academy is a small Catholic Montessori school that seeks to provide and educational environment for all children that inspires trust in Jesus Christ, a life of virtue, and faith in the Catholic Church. We have a commitment to serving children with exceptional needs and their families, including a student services team to support each child and the classroom guides. Our school also has a unique funding model. Instead of having a standard tuition, we ask our families to invest in the school through their time and talents as well as becoming benefactors to the school. This makes it possible for a variety of different families to access our school regardless of their income. It also invites a strong investment from our parents, creating a committed school community.

· Has a strong understanding of the Montessori method and its formation of the child
· Has a thorough knowledge of the Montessori pedagogy and feels confident implementing it.
· Has a strong understanding of literacy and math skills development.
· Is self-driven and hard working.
· Has the ability to effectively assess and track student knowledge progress.
· Has the ability to work closely with another elementary guide.
· Has the ability to lead a classroom team while also partnering with another elementary guide, the student services team, and an assistant.
· Is trained in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
