We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be an essential part of our patient experience, providing compassionate care and clinical support in a polished, professional, and high-end surgical environment.
Job Details:
- Knowledge of all the procedures/ treatments/surgeries that are performed
- The Medical Assistant's goals is to maintain clear, professional communication with patients, providing reassurance and ensuring they understand the recovery process
- Perform preliminary physical tests; blood work, pulse oximeter readings, EKG, temperature and hCG pregnancy test with urine sample; report patient history summary
- Operate e-fax, printer, scanner
- Conducts detailed documentation/record keeping.
- Excellent listener: listening carefully to instructions and requests from physicians and to the concerns and needs of patients
- Follow sanitary precautions by cleaning and disinfecting exam room before and after each patient
- Aid surgeons in surgical post operative appointments via unsupervised removal of sutures and drains (training for this will be provided prior to this duty being assigned)
- Conduct proper and thorough follow-up calls with all post-operative patients, starting immediately after surgery and continuing at designated intervals up to 3 months post-operation.
- Follow the Post-Operative Protocol Phone Call guidelines to ensure all patient concerns, symptoms, and needs are addressed during these calls
- Provide reassurance and basic post-op care instructions as per clinic protocols.
- Prioritize patient care duties, ensuring that all follow-up calls are made in a timely manner and other tasks are completed within the appropriate deadlines.
Qualifications
- Certification: Medical Assistant or Registered Nurse
- Bilingual (Fluency in Spanish and English) and/or Portuguese is a definite plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in the plastic surgery or cosmetic medical field is preferred.
- Strong Communication Skills
- Ability to read, write and verbally communicate with patients, co-workers, supervisors, physicians, hospital staff and the public in an intelligent, patient, and articulate manner
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Always showing a smile and an attitude to match!
- Ability to multi-task
- Reliability and punctuality a must
- Able to perform under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively.

- Understanding and adhering to the HIPAA Privacy Rule
