Referral Specialist

Job Summary
The Referral Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by managing and coordinating patient referrals to ensure seamless access to necessary medical services. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a solid understanding of medical terminology, coding, and insurance processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to facilitate timely referrals while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage patient referrals efficiently, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for referred services.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate appointments and follow-up care for patients.
• Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 for accurate billing and record keeping.
• Assist in resolving any issues related to referrals or insurance verification.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering inquiries related to their referrals and care options.
• Stay updated on managed care policies, procedures, and changes in the healthcare landscape.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
