What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist - 2025-2026 position at Division Wide?
Summary:
The Occupational Therapist serves as a multidisciplinary team member to identify, evaluate, and serve students with disabilities who demonstrate motoric, sensory-based, and access needs.
Essential Functions/Typical Tasks:
- Demonstrate accurate knowledge of occupational therapy services provided to enhance student achievement in the educational setting
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations in accordance with eligibility and related service requirements and state-mandated special education timelines.
- Analyze assessment data, prepare comprehensive reports, and present findings as a member of IEP and 504 teams.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop relative plans to address student needs.
- Provide a continuum of occupational therapy services based upon current research and evidence based practices.
- Facilitate occupational therapy evaluations and individualized service plan activities for students who are parentally placed in homeschool or private school settings.
- Complete and maintain necessary documentation for Medicaid eligible students.
- Supervise OT Assistant (COTA) staff members, as needed.
- Provide fieldwork experience to OT and OTA students for Colleges/ Universities under contract, as needed.
- Abide by State statutes, School Board policies and regulations
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, Division policy, and administrative regulations
- Other duties, as assigned, through the immediate supervisor.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Degree from ACOTE-accredited, or commensurate, OT program with passing score on national entry-level exam and VA licensure/certification/registration required. Experience working with pediatric and adolescent populations or in a school setting preferred.
Workday:
Full Time /10 month/ 35 hours per week
Salary:
Range based on the 2024-2025 appropriate payscale is $70,686 - $132,995 with additional supplemental pay for a doctorate degree. The salary may be adjusted based on the 2025-2026 school board budget.
