What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Manager position at Divots Conference Center @ Norfolk Lodge & Suites?
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and execute events at our conference center, including fundraisers, banquets, business meetings, and other special occasions
- Coordinate with clients to understand their event requirements and ensure their needs are met
- Manage event budgets and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring they are arranged according to client specifications
- Coordinate with various departments within the conference center and hotel, such as catering and guest services, to ensure a seamless event experience
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and guests throughout the event, Our mission statement is to "Love and Serve our Guests."
- Handle any issues or concerns that may arise during events and find appropriate solutions
Experience:
- Previous experience in event management or a related field is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of hospitality industry practices and trends
- Familiarity with banquet and restaurant operations is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as events may require
