Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise purchasing and transportation activities across the company.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, shipping companies, and cargo insurance providers.
- Liaise with branches on product quotes, product searches, and knowledge.
- Monitor vendor and shipper claims, and assist in product liability litigation.
- Ensure compliance with the Lacey Act and FSC certification requirements.
- Develop and manage supplier performance evaluations.
- Oversee the product database and maintain product category structure.
- Keep senior management informed of industry news and market conditions.
- Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably at least three years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of the building materials industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
