Dixon Montessori Charter School is a WASC accredited public school enrolling students in grades TK-8th grade.
We are a site based school program serving over 400 students under the authorization of Dixon Unified School District.

At DMCS, we blend core components of the Montessori philosophy (Kindergarten thru 3rd) with a Project-Based Learning Style (4th thru 8th grades) to create a dynamic, "hands-on" learning approach. All Montessori and Project-Based curriculum is aligned to the Common Core State Standards, and gives the students a well-rounded exposure to the many ways of learning.   Dixon Montessori Charter School Job Description  Title: Middle School Teacher Reports to: Executive Director, Site Administrators Primary Function:  Under the general supervision of the Executive director and other Administrators, certificated teachers are expected to provide a classroom program that supports and promotes the Mission and Vision of DMCS for the success of all students.  Relationship to Student Achievement: This position directly supports student achievement of the California State Standards for 6th, 7th and 8h grade.  Supervision Exercised and Received Exercised:  Not applicable Received:  Executive Director, Site Administrators  Duties and Responsibilities: (This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this position, but is intended to accurately reflect the primary job elements.)

- Establish and communicate learning goals for all students
- Supply examples of student progress toward objectives that may include reading records, writing samples, projects, and portfolios of student work
- Use results of assessments to guide instruction and interventions with in your classroom
- Involve and guide all students in assessing their own learning
- Develop lesson plans that ensure the attainment of state learning standards and the additional specific grade-by-grade learning standards set forth in the charter.
- Coordinate lesson plans with other teachers to maximize possibilities for teaching similar topics in the same general time frame, thus reinforcing student knowledge on an interdisciplinary basis.
- Provide direct and indirect instruction.
- Long and short-term planning addressing individual needs of students.
- Prepare students adequately for all required assessments.
- Evaluate student's progress
- Communicate student progress regularly with parents or guardians
- Prepare at least quarterly individual student achievement reports for parents.
- Provide an inviting, exciting, innovative learning environment.
- Engage in effective and appropriate classroom management based on the school wide PBIS program.
- Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff.
- Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.
- Accommodate and /or modify lesson plans per IEP's, 504's and other student needs.
- Maintain and enrich his/her expertise in his/her area of teaching through continued professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by the Principal.
- Valid California Education Teaching Certificate
