We are seeking a skilled, creative, and health-conscious personal chef to prepare home-cooked, nutritious meals for a family of three, including a toddler. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing meals from a variety of international cuisines, with a focus on healthy ingredients, and can adapt recipes to meet specific dietary needs. We love exploring Chinese, Vietnamese, French, Italian, Mexican, and Greek flavors but prefer meals that are low in salt, sugar, and oils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and cook daily meals for the family, ensuring they are nutritionally balanced, flavorful, and visually appealing.
- Focus on creating low-salt, low-sugar, and low-oil meals while maintaining the richness of international cuisines.
- Create toddler-friendly meals that are easy to eat, nutritious, and safe for young children, taking into consideration any dietary restrictions or allergies.
- Shop for fresh ingredients, and ensure all food is free from preservatives where possible.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Adapt menus to accommodate any special requests, dietary preferences, or restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, etc.).
- Assist with meal prepping and storage to ensure quick access to healthy options.
- Occasionally assist with meal preparation for family gatherings or special events.
- Stay up-to-date with healthy eating trends and continually innovate to keep meals exciting and fresh.
- Provide advice on maintaining a healthy, balanced diet for both adults and toddlers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a personal chef or in a similar culinary role.
- Strong knowledge of diverse cuisines, including Chinese, Vietnamese, French, Italian, Mexican, and Greek cooking.
- Expertise in preparing healthy meals that meet specific dietary requirements (low salt, sugar, oils).
- Experience in creating kid-friendly meals and understanding the nutritional needs of young children.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in the kitchen.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
- Excellent communication skills to understand family preferences and dietary needs.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
