DK Consulting is seeking an Organizational Change Management (OCM) Consultant to lead and support change management activities critical to the success of this effort. The ideal resource would be an OCM consultant who owns their own business and has the bandwidth to work additional hours per week to support this endeavor. The resource will bring proven expertise in driving user adoption, managing stakeholder engagement, and minimizing resistance during complex IT transformations in public sector environments.to join us.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive OCM strategy and roadmap aligned with the IT consolidation program goals.
- Conduct stakeholder assessments, identify change impacts, and develop mitigation plans to support a smooth transition across the state agency.
- Create and deliver effective communication plans that inform, engage, and align stakeholders at all levels.
- Support the design and facilitate training plans, materials, and workshops to prepare users for new systems, processes, and roles.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to integrate change management activities into the project plan.
- Develop and monitor change readiness assessments and adoption metrics to measure effectiveness and inform adjustments.
- Provide coaching to leaders and managers to help them act as effective change sponsors.
- Address and manage resistance to change through proactive engagement and support strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 7 years of experience in organizational change management, preferably within IT transformation projects.
- Change management certifications
- Experience with IT consolidation, shared services, or enterprise system rollouts.
- Familiarity with the structure and functions of state transportation departments or agencies.
- Experience supporting public sector or government IT projects, ideally at the state or local level.
- Strong knowledge of change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR, Kotter, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with training development, stakeholder communications, and change readiness assessments.
- Ability to navigate complex political environments and maintain professionalism in high-visibility projects.
Education: Bachelor s degree in Organizational Development, Communications, Business, IT, or related field (Master s preferred)
