DKC New York is on the lookout for a confident, dynamic Senior Account Executive to join our growing Consumer practice. We’re seeking a candidate who is equal parts strategic thinker and creative storyteller—someone ready to play a key role in developing and executing innovative campaigns that resonate and deliver results.
This position requires close collaboration with a talented, bi-coastal team, so a team-first mindset and strong communication skills are essential.
We're looking for a driven, passionate, and skilled PR professional with a growing network of media and influencer relationships, and a proven track record of securing high-impact media coverage. The ideal candidate consistently produces high-quality work that aligns with client goals and advances broader brand strategies.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a PR agency or in-house communications role, with a focus on consumer brands
- Experience in corporate communications and/or executive visibility (e.g., speaking opportunities, awards, thought leadership, newsjacking) is a strong plus
- Deep familiarity with talent, pop culture, cultural moments, and social trends
- Experience with event logistics, production and execution
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Demonstrated success collaborating across teams, including multi-office and cross-functional environments
- Comfortable engaging with and presenting to senior-level clients and executives
- Actively participate in new business
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to execute strategic communications programs and effectively report results
- Draft, edit, and develop high-quality press materials including media alerts, press releases, and briefing documents
- Pitch media and secure top-tier coverage across print, digital, broadcast, and influencer channels for campaigns, product launches, events, philanthropic initiatives, and brand stories
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media, influencers, and industry tastemakers
- Maintain a finger on the pulse; deliver always-on creative thinking across partnerships, stunts, social opportunities, trendjacking and strategic alliances
- Monitor media trends and identify opportunities for client inclusion through timely outreach and creative storytelling
The salary range for this role is commensurate with experience: $55k - $70k.
Our office has a hybrid work model: in office 3 days a week, working remote 2 days a week.
