Job Summary
The Occupancy Specialist plays a critical role in managing the leasing process and ensuring compliance with housing regulations. This position involves working closely with prospective tenants, property management teams, and legal entities to facilitate smooth occupancy transitions. Responsibilities
- Manage the application process for prospective tenants, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Conduct interviews with applicants to assess eligibility for housing programs, particularly those under the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program.
- Maintain organized files for all contracts and legal documents related to property leasing.
- Collaborate with property management to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local housing regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to tenants and applicants throughout the leasing process.
- Prepare reports on occupancy rates and assist in developing strategies to improve tenant retention.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of property management practices and legal administrative processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail in file management.
- Familiarity with LIHTC regulations and compliance requirements is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
