Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying. Works on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stopping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries weights up to 40 pounds. May handle heavier items with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
Working Conditions
Work is accomplished both inside and outside of warehouses in all kinds of weather. Work areas may be hot, cold, damp, drafty, dirty, noisy, poorly lit, and /or other adverse working conditions. Frequently exposed to working conditions that or situations that could result in cuts, scrapes, and bruises, falls from ladders, falling material or injury from equipment. May be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents, and high noise while working in a mechanized work area, or radiation, toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes while working in a hazardous materials area. Required to wear protective clothing and equipment when working with hazardous materials.

- Exercises technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers.
- Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on a weekly or monthly basis.
- Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, in accordance with general work schedules, methods, and policies established by higher-level supervisors.
- Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
- Assigns work to individual workers by verbal or written instructions.
- Monitors work in progress and inspects completed work to assure work order requirements.
- Sets performance standards for subordinates and makes formal appraisals of their work performance.
- Counsels employees and discusses informal complaints and grievances with workers and union representatives.
- Initiates disciplinary actions as needed.
- Maintains work reports and records.
