Job Summary
The Business Intelligence Developer Senior Specialist will leverage extensive knowledge and experience in business intelligence, data analysis, and technical skills to create and implement advanced solutions that meet internal or external client requirements. They will actively participate in designing and developing new BI applications and reports, focusing on delivering actionable insights and ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
The Business Intelligence Developer Senior Specialist will maintain and optimize existing BI solutions, addressing reported issues or adding features, while ensuring seamless integration with various databases and platforms like Azure, MS SQL, and our ERP system. They will also develop custom software to extend the functionality of the ERP and CRM systems, which may include SSRS reports, Power BI reports, or other tools.
This individual will work collaboratively with data engineers, other BI developers, and team members to ensure proper operation and acceptance of BI solutions, receiving limited direction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects or assignments.
The Business Intelligence Developer Senior Specialist will receive limited direction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects or assignments. Will assist project leadership on projects of complex scope. Will work independently or under limited supervision.
This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.

Essential Functions
Reporting & Visualization (60%)
- Utilize knowledge of Power BI, SSRS, SSAS, and other BI tools to create interactive dashboards and reports
- Work with software development team to integrate BI into other applications
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide insights, using DAX, M Query, Python, R, or other analytic tools as required
- Uses knowledge of relational database design and databases such as SQL Server to develop database layer of applications
- Develop and maintain ETL processes, data warehouses, and database security strategies ensuring seamless data integration for BI solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, availability, and performance of databases.
- Assist with all project communication and reporting
- Prepare development of project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Use DevOps tools to manage Software Development Lifecycle and programming tasks
- Manages personal hours using company tools

Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced knowledge of BI & reporting tools such as Power BI, SSRS, and SSAS
- Proficiency in T-SQL and query languages
- Solid understanding of database platforms & technologies such as MS SQL Server, MS Access, MySQL, OLTP, and OLAP
- Experience with Deltek ERP software
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
- Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technology
- Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Up to 5%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states
- Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related discipline
- 8 years of experience with Business Intelligence development
