Job Description
The Operations Technical Services (Commissioning) Engineer is responsible for safely placing various substation relays and equipment into service efficiently and timely while developing accurate and precise engineering field changes in a flexible manner. This role involves on-site engineering support for capital and maintenance projects, testing, reviewing tests performed by others, and procuring and producing test reports with summaries and conclusions. The engineer will create plans and coordinate their execution with bargaining unit employees and other parties, including isolation plans, removal plans, cable pull plans, tagging plans, and cutover plans. Additionally, the engineer will function test schemes for correctness, collaborate with bargaining unit employees to test protective equipment, document and review test results, evaluate engineering designs, enforce testing methodology, and utilize function-tested schematics to perform GPS synchronized end-to-end testing of protection schemes.
