Overview
DLH is looking for a BigFix Engineer to join our Endpoint Lifecycle Engineering Squad in serving our client in Bethesda, MD. A successful candidate will collaborate across multiple teams to ensure the compliance of the endpoints in our environment. The team is responsible for patching multiple OS platforms, ensuring the compliance of required security agents and other benchmarks, and creating and maintaining Windows images and templates. The candidate will need proficiency in the BigFix console and be capable of creating custom content of moderate complexity. The team is responsible for creating Windows images that are fully hardened and work with Mac and Linux engineers to ensure the same. It will be required to have sharp critical analysis skills and be able to solve problems, particularly in the integration of new products. This role will require an individual who can take ownership of tasks and initiatives and follow through with diligence, providing timely updates to leadership.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patching, release, and operations support for enterprise systems.
- Create custom content in BigFix for distributing software, patches, and configurations.
- Assist in migrating endpoints, configurations, and processes to Microsoft Intune.
- Support multiple operating systems on premises and in our cloud environments.
- Collaborate across Enterprise Operations to incorporate Zero Trust principles in the infrastructure.
- Set up monitoring and reporting for required agents across multiple platforms.
- Managing BigFix infrastructure in a Windows environment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with servers, software, and actions.
- Provide escalation support and assistance to technical support and junior administrators.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding of endpoints in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
- Ensure all endpoints are within compliance; identify and remediate discrepancies.
- Provide information and data utilized for asset reporting.
- Provide subject matter expertise on issues and tasks related to the remote distribution of packages.
- Provide subject matter expertise for any and all issues that may affect workstations.
- Assist with updating Process and Procedure documentation for End User Technology and Service Desk.
- Perform assigned tasks independently.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years’ experience or equivalent work experience in lieu of education will be considered.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience performing systems administration/engineering tasks within an enterprise IT environment.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience architecting and building enterprise endpoint management solutions using BigFix.
- Must have experience and familiarity with technologies including BigFix Core/Inventory/Compliance, Microsoft Intune, Defender for Endpoint, Azure Arc, VMware, PowerShell, Windows Server, Active Directory, and GPO.
- Must possess excellent time-management and organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, and experience maintaining technical data and documentation.
- Linux expertise and Azure experience/certification would be a plus.
Basic Compensation: $112,439.94 - $125,491.01 yearly salary
The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates’ skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. An applicant’s salary history will not be used to determine compensation.
