As a Collections Specialist, you will be expected to execute adequate and timely collection and/or instigate recovery activities. This role involves minimizing risk costs and optimizing returns. All while executing timely collection and recovery activities to minimize risk costs and optimize returns. The day-to-day responsibilities include communicating with customers, identifying reasons for delinquency, managing the arrears process, and recording customer history to ensure a complete file for decision-making.
The essentials for this role include being customer-focused, able to quickly assess situations, adaptable to fast-paced environments, and quality-driven. Preferred qualifications include 3 years of experience in collections, customer service, or sales, experience in the leasing and finance sector, and a bachelor’s degree. Day to Day
- Communicate with customers by telephone and in writing
- Identify the reason for delinquency and negotiate solutions to resolve the delinquency
- Manage customers and solve the arrears process based on customer or contract reasons for delinquency
- Identify quality adjustment requests
- Work well in an inbound and outbound dialing environment
- Attention to detail in updating the system with notes and taking payments
- Follow through with all necessary actions to collect payments
- Record customer and arrears history to ensure a complete file as a sound basis for decision-making during collection, recovery
- Time Management and Prioritization to reduce impact on losses
- Two working days per year volunteering for a local charity.

- Customer-focused with the ability to build relationships to solve problems
- Ability to quickly access a situation based on previous documented communications and use of multiple systems to identify the problem and solution
- Able to work in a very fast-paced environment and adapt to situations
- Quality-driven and results-oriented
- 3 years of collections, customer service, and/or sales experience preferred
- Experience & knowledge in the leasing & finance sector is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree is a plus
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
- Ability to use and navigate Microsoft products is a plus
- Ability to navigate Salesforce Service cloud is a plus
