THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Identify actions necessary to achieve task completion and to obtain results, meet schedules, deadlines, and performance goals.
- Prioritize and complete tasks in order to deliver desired outcomes within allotted time frames.

- Establish a process for activities that lead to the implementation of systems, procedures or outcomes.
- Identify long range goals and design plans to attain them while evaluating future implications of current decisions and actions.
THE CONTROLS ENGINEER WILL:
- Develop 2D CAD templates and symbol databases for panel and schematic drafting from ground up, including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulics using AutoCAD
- Design and develop the layout of control systems including all required PLC, PC, HMI, safety, and communication hardware.
- Create Sequence of Operations, Timing Charts, Programs, Parameter Lists, Instructions
- Develop designs according to Safety and Environmental Regulation
- Write and debug PLC and HMI programs from concept to completion
- Parameterize and tune VFDs and servo motors
- Program PLCs and diagnose machine faults/failures
- Configure and integrate machine interlocks, light curtains, safety scanners, safety gates, and other safety devices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an engineering field (e.g. mechanical, industrial, process, electrical, software, automation etc.) and/or 3 years’ experience in industrial applications, preferably heavy equipment design or metal stamping strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD software.
- Competency in creating electrical schematics, system design, and controls designs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems design experience would be an asset
- Experience with industrial control equipment: relays, power supplies, PLCs, IO cards, PCBs, etc., working knowledge of Allen Bradley Controls
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Controls or Automation Engineer, all other qualifications may be gained concurrently with this requirement.
- Minimum 2 years experience in on-site troubleshooting of PLC devices
- Minimum 2 years experience in Automation programming / coordination between PLC devices
- Minimum 2 years experience with a combination of the following PLC Brands: Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron
- Minimum 2 years experience with Servo Motors (Yaskawa) or Industrial Servo Robots (Motoman, Sepro or Fanuc)
- Experience working independently, as well as working in a team-orientated and fast-paced startup-like environment
