The Associate Counsel will play a pivotal role in supporting the Company’s real estate operations, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, construction and property management, providing direction and oversight to the Development & Construction, Property and Portfolio Management Business Units on legal and business matters utilizing knowledge and expertise to mitigate actual or potential risks. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent problem solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage numerous matters and priorities in a fast-paced environment.What you have already achieved : (Requirements)3 years legal experience with a law firm or in-house with a real estate company with a focus on transactions, development and construction (ground-up development, single family, multi-family and value-add projects for rental communities) and property and portfolio management matters.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with and provide counsel to all team members including the senior leadership team.Ability to prioritize and perform multiple assignments without immediate supervision.Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and member in good standing with the Florida Bar Association.What you are great at : (Responsibilities)Provide timely and effective legal support to the Development and Construction Business and Property and Portfolio Business Units, serving as the main point of contact.Draft, review and negotiate purchase and sale agreements for commercial development real estate transactions, draft and review property management agreements, leasing agreements, listing agreements and related agreements and documentation.Assist with due diligence requests in connection with real estate transactions, as assigned.Develop relations with and effectively manage outside counsel.Assist with a wide range of legal issues that arise in the course of business operations relating to development, construction, property and asset management, and other business matters, as assigned.Provide legal analysis, strategy, and solutions in a legally sound manner that balances risks with achievement of the company’s goals and objectives.Effectively and efficiently use the legal department's matter tracking system for all matters. Negotiate with outside parties to accomplish business objectives and mitigate risk in property management and development and construction matters.Work with Corporate Compliance Manager on various areas of compliance for designated business units.Support other attorneys and support staff as assigned.What you’re motivated by : Making an impact.
