Director of Finance Partners & Debt Placement

The Director of Finance Partners & Debt Placement will be responsible for managing the placement of primarily multifamily debt with permanent lenders and construction lenders. Driving the placement of both DLP and client-owned assets, this role is pivotal to the growth of our portfolio.

What you have already achieved: (Requirements)

  • 5 years of experience placing debt
  • 2 years experience working “in-house” for developers and sponsors
  • 2 years experience working on development and construction financing 

What you are great at: (Responsibilities) 

  • Lead the creation and/or review of lender packages for deals/engagements assigned.
  • Analyze asset financials, prepare financial models, and write-ups for lender submission packages. 
  • Provide insights, analysis, and live debt quotes before offers are placed and during due diligence.
  • Gather 4-10 term sheets per loan request and prepare a debt matrix to compare options with recommendations, including for bridge, construction, and permanent loans.
  • Manage DLP Lending debt monitoring, including maturities, covenants, etc.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of real estate debt markets.
  • Monitor opportunities for supplemental financing and refinances through DLP's portfolio.
  • Negotiate best debt terms, conditions, and covenants
  • Lead lender due diligence and communication throughout the entire loan closing process, including leading lender checklist calls.
  • Provide exit financing analysis and debt placement services on behalf of DLP elite members.
  • Execute debt placement agreements with sponsors. 
  • Network and build relationships with multifamily brokers to generate lending opportunities.
  • Manage and update the Capital Markets directory. 
  • Attend all required meetings and work proactively to provide solutions to improve the performance of the management company.
  • Learn all DLP Direct Lending Partners Bridge Loan products, processes, and underwriting.
