What are the responsibilities and job description for the Criminal Defense Coverage Attorney position at DM Cantor?
DM Cantor is seeking a dedicated Coverage Attorney to exclusively handle various court appearances, and conduct police/witness interviews. This role offers a minimum starting salary of $175,000 per year, with higher compensation based on experience.
Our firm is committed to serious, high-quality defense, and we maintain a strong in-office and courtroom presence. Attorneys work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, either in court or in the office—we do not offer remote work.
The Position Involves The Following
We offer an outstanding benefits package, which includes ten (10) days paid holidays, fifteen (15) days paid vacation days, and five (5) personal or sick time off days a year (i.e., 30 paid days off per year). Upon completion of the first year of employment we do offer loyalty vacation time off, which means an employee can earn an additional one (1) day off per year of employment. Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance is also available. Also, a 401K with a very generous employer match of 3.5% of total compensation is offered. Lastly, the Firm pays for your parking beginning on day one.

- Attend standard court hearings involving: Initial Appearances; Arraignments; Pre-Trial Conferences; Discovery and Plea Offer Pick-up; Status Conferences; etc..
- Motion Arguments and Evidentiary Hearings regarding: Motions to Continue; Motions to Compel Discovery or Interviews; Motions for Deposition; Probation Violation Disposition Hearings; Mitigation Hearings and Sentencings; and MVD Administrative Hearings on DUI cases; etc..
- Conduct witness interviews at various police stations, prosecutor offices, and in our office.
