Overview
We are seeking a reliable Executive Housekeeper for a large estate in Santa Ynez that exhibits the impeccable attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness standards found in 5-star hotels. As the Executive Housekeeper, you will play an essential role in caring for the principals with an excellent ability to maintain the home in pristine condition. You must be comfortable using technology, speak fluent English, follow instructions thoroughly, be flexible, be able to go up and down stairs, run errands and have excellent communication skills. Must have experience working in a high-end homes.
Responsibilities:
Shopping:
- Grocery Shopping 2x/week. Typically, Monday/Friday. Maintain a standard grocery list with the owner’s input.
- Household and cleaning supply shopping as needed. In stores or online.
Mail:
- Check the mailbox every day. Check for package deliveries before leaving.
- Answer when anybody rings/knocks at the front door. Usually, package delivery or vendors arrive to perform a task.
Laundry:
- Wash, dry, fold, and hang the owner’s personal laundry. Iron as needed. Line dry t-shirts and iron. Every day.
- Wash/Dry bathroom towels every day.
- Remake any used beds. Change the owner’s bedsheets Mon/Fri as needed.
- Ability to do laundry and press sheets in-house.
- Check out/in all dry-cleaning items.
General Housekeeping:
- General housekeeping (cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, etc.)
- Clean all bathrooms every day or as needed for less-used bathrooms—clean gardeners’ bathroom in backyard 1x/week.
- Empty all trash & recycling bins daily. Break down boxes.
- Wash floors 1x/week or as needed
- Keep drawers clean and organized (clothes, kitchen, bathroom, etc.)
- Clean kitchen and wash all dishes. Wine glasses and gold rim China hand-washed only—every day.
- Polish silverware as needed.
- Keep refrigerators and pantries clean and organized with date labels on fruit.
- Sweep/mop the garage floor as needed. Approximately 1-2x/month.
- When owners are away traveling, work on special projects such as organization, deep cleaning, emptying drawers and cleaning/organizing contents, cleaning less-used spaces such as basement storage areas, and garage.
Vendors:
- Always supervise vendors inside the residence. Never leave them unattended.
- Work with Estate Manager in scheduling vendors as needed and per schedule
- Always answer the doorbell/knock at the front door.
- Let florist into the house Monday/Friday mornings.
- Check lightbulbs around the house and make a list of any burned out.
- Keep Estate Manager informed of any concerns
Organization & Special Projects:
- Help maintenance schedules, shopping lists, household inventories, etc.
- Work on special projects as directed by employers.
Compensation:
- $40-$50 per hour
