Part-Time Housekeeper

Overview

A private family in Menlo Park, California is seeking a highly capable and experienced part-time Housekeeper to ensure the overall cleanliness of their home. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of detailed cleaning procedures and caring for delicate surfaces in the family’s 6,000 square foot residence.

Applicants must have previous high-level housekeeping experience in a busy household, be polished and professional, and be willing to work as part of an existing team that values positivity and collegiality. The ideal candidates will be hardworking and often self-directed, and able to help maintain the overall cleanliness of the home.

The ideal candidate will have a kind and calm demeanor, a high attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. The family values organization and consistency – the beds are made the same way each day and personal items are put back and organized in the same place. The ability to manage tasks with ease and occasionally be flexible to accommodate the family’s schedule are critical to success in this role.

• Ideally Part-Time: 8:00am-4:00pm with flexibility to accommodate a change in schedule
• Sunday-Tuesday or Sunday-Wednesday
• There is some slight flexibility on the schedule for the hired candidate
• Start Date: ASAP

Duties

• Daily household cleaning and larger seasonal deep cleaning projects.
• Help make beds daily and change towels and linens as desired.
• Household laundry duties including washing and pressing of clothing and linens.
• Be familiar with reading labels, hand washing, pressing, and steaming clothing items.
• Assist with dry-cleaning and floral services. 
• Cleaning and care of fine furnishings and delicate surfaces.
• Help identify and report issues requiring maintenance.
• Maintain tidy and organized closets, pantries, and storage areas throughout the residence, ensuring correct inventory levels. 
• Assist additional staff members as needed.
• Assist with occasional entertaining including event preparation, serving, clean-up.

• Willingness to be flexible with work schedules on occasion.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of recent, high-level housekeeping experience in a private home.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Excellent references from past employers.
• Successfully complete an in-depth background investigation.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Must be COVID vaccinated boosted.

Compensation and Benefits

• $50-$55 per hour | DOE
• Guaranteed hours
