A young, respectful family of five in New York City is seeking a detail-oriented, flexible, and team-minded part-time Housekeeper to join their household team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, values clear communication, and enjoys maintaining high standards in a warm, structured home environment.
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in private homes or luxury hospitality settings, and be equally comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative household team. This position reports directly to the Director of Residences and may offer potential for growth into a full-time role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily housekeeping duties and general home organization
- Execute routine and seasonal deep cleaning projects
- Manage laundry: washing, ironing, handwashing delicates, and coordinating dry cleaning
- Care for fine furnishings, surfaces, art, silver, china, and crystal using appropriate methods
- Maintain plant and floral care throughout the home
- Organize closets, cabinets, and storage areas
- Support with dinner parties, including light service assistance
- Monitor the home for necessary repairs and report accordingly
- Stock household and cleaning supplies, and manage inventory of personal care items
- Assist with packing, unpacking, and travel prep as needed
- Conduct daily walk-throughs for operational and safety checks
- Receive and log packages, manage returns and exchanges
- Run local errands for the principals and team as needed
- Communicate with household staff and vendors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Qualifications:
- 3 years of housekeeping experience in private households or luxury hospitality
- Local to NYC and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Fluent in English; professional, discreet, and effective communicator
- Comfortable using modern household technology and apps
- High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to take initiative
- Physically capable of performing housekeeping tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- Comfortable working with a team as well as independently
Salary : $45 - $50
