Setup Technician Requirements
Applicants must have at least 2 years of one of the following :
1) Similar experience in the injection molding, blow molding or thermoforming industry doing tooling setups and machine process control operating.
2) Mechanic for industrial production equipment or ASE Certified Mechanic.
- If you do not meet one of these qualification’s, do not apply.
Starting Pay commensurate based upon past experience with similar thin gauge inline thermoforming equipment.
Shift : 6 : 45am to 4 : 30pm Monday - Thursday, Friday 6 : 45 - 4pm (and adjustable hours for Friday by management based upon business needs)
The Setup Technician position is responsible for maintaining equipment and the production process through interaction with manufacturing equipment. They are responsible for making process changes to the equipment when required for good quality parts. Doing production line changes one product to another in a timely manner. This job requires the individual to interact with mechanical equipment which will entail the necessity to deal with lubricants including grease. This is a physical job and you will need to have adequate strength to tighten and secure tooling.
They are responsible for maintaining production raw material needs along with process material recycling. This position requires the ability for problem solving when required.
Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a factory environment doing similar responsibilities.
Essential Functions :
1) The ability to lift up to 120 lbs occasionally and 75 lbs consistently. Stand on your feet for a full shift and get around production equipment to fulfill job responsibilities.
2) Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages
3) Do appropriate quality checks throughout the day.
4) Notify management of any mechanical, parts or material issues
5) Place finished goods on designated pallets and loading zones
6) Maintain a clean and safe work area
7) Follow procedures and training
8) Learn production line change procedures
9) Do timely production line changes, mold set ups and other assigned tasks along with
10) Follow direction by management
11) Work with hand tools, equipment and control interfaces. Must have knowledge of hand tools and use.
12) Responsible for production paperwork during shift
13) Ability to read a tape measure and do simple math
14) Do preventative maintenance on equipment
15) The ability to direct factory line employees when directed by management
16) Ability to use common hand tools in fulfilling job requirements
17) Prior factory maintenance work or mechanic based experience is a plus
18) Must Bring your own tape measure, utility Knife, notebook and pen, 6 inch scale.
19) Take care of any scrap recycling during your shift along with boxing of finished goods.
