Job Description
Daily Mail US is looking for a driven Social Media Editor to join the social media team in New York. The successful candidate will help shape the Daily Mail's voice across a range of social media platforms, maintaining the highest of standards across multiple accounts. The successful candidate will have a true passion for news and pop culture and an eagerness to learn and understand what different audiences look like across different social platforms.
Job Description
- Post to all Daily Mail social media accounts, maintaining high editorial standards
- Write headlines, create graphics to be used across social media accounts
- Pitch content to editors that is likely to drive engagement and page views on social media
- Monitor social media traffic engagement and think creatively to help grow audiences on social media
- Monitor social media trends to pitch stories and inform decision making across a range of platforms
- Work closely with the social video team to ensure all platforms are properly maintained and have a coherent voice
- Work closely with the US Head of Social and US Head of Audience to develop skills both in social media and beyond
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in social media in a fast-paced news environment
- Experience driving traffic and engagement on social media
- Experience writing headlines and creating assets for social platforms
- Experience using Facebook, Instagram, X, Reddit and social media analytics tools
- Flexibility to work across major events in nights, weekends and holidays
