Title : Senior Marketing Specialist, Events & Projects

Reports to : Marketing Manager

Location : DMG MORI USA, Hoffman Estates, IL

Hours : Monday through Friday, 8 : 30am to 5 : 30pm

Classification : Exempt

Travel : 25-30%

Employment is conditioned on DMG MORI's ability to obtain and maintain any necessary export licensing.

Essential Job Functions :

The Senior Marketing Specialist, Events & Projects is primarily responsible for planning and executing events and exhibitions in the USA. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, as well as multiple tasks simultaneously, and must be able to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Primary scope of position includes but is not limited to :

  • Planning and Organization of exhibitions, including onsite setup coordination, communication internally with involved parties within a project, externally with exhibition organization, suppliers, partners, booth builders, and agencies
  • Planning and organization of local Technical Center events with local offices across the USA
  • Planning and organization of Open Houses including onsite setup coordination, communication internally with involved parties within a project, externally with, suppliers, partners, booth builders, and agencies
  • Planning and organization of Customer trips to factories or other DMG MORI events
  • General organizational tasks within the Marketing team
  • Managing Suppliers : acquisition of new partners, negotiation of pricing, development of efficient supplier networks
  • Planning and organization of various projects within the team and at other internal / external facilities.
  • Preparation of documentation materials for Management approval
  • Support with other tasks within the team to be able to fill in for team members as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent in related work experience
  • 5 or more years of related work experience
  • Include 3 references with your resume (2 professional and 1 personal)
  • Computer Skills : Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, ToDo, Tasks, and Outlook)
  • Skills in graphics design Software (InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Photoshop)
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain a positive attitude under pressure and manage high volume activity
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented, and proactive in problem solving
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently, anticipate needs and prioritize tasks
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on events booked, occasional evenings and weekends during event preparation
  • Prior experience in machining or manufacturing industry is a plus
  • Work Environment : Spends time in office setting primarily. With customers, spend time in the manufacturing environment (assembly, machining, and quality control facility). Exposed to possible hazards including and not limited to high noise, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.

    Physical Demands :

    Frequent : Sitting at desk, utilizing computers and phones. Repetitive hand, wrist, arm, and shoulder movements.

    Periodic : Standing, walking, bending, and stooping.

    Occasional : Business travel. Lifting, pushing, and pulling objects.
