Assistant Opinion / Features Editor

Salary : $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

DailyMail.com is seeking an assistant editor on the Opinion / Features desk to join the growing team in our New York City office. This is an in-office position and a 9-hour shift Monday to Friday but applicants must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts as news arises.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
- Pitching opinion and feature ideas daily
- Composing briefs for opinion and feature writers
- Editing under tight deadlines
- Restructuring articles
- Researching article ideas
- Fact-checking drafts of opinion and feature articles
- Legalling articles and working on sourcing with reporters
- Working with photo editors to create images to illustrate articles
- Building articles in a content management system
We are seeking professionals with the following experience :
Dailymail.com operates a 24 / 7 newsroom, and all shifts are expected to be worked from the office. Applicants must be willing to work flexible hours.
