Assist with manufacturing facility safety program by shadowing Safety Coordinator during meetings, toolbox talks and other training opportunities, and new hire orientations. Helps to ensure government and company compliance and assist with opportunities for improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn the life in a day of a safety professional by attending safety topic meetings, toolbox talks and new hire orientations.
- Review OSHA required programs, hazardous communication guidelines and lock out tag out requirements and ensure compliance.
- Review and update all safety data sheets and spot-checking secondary labels.
- Drive safety culture on production floor by introducing topics to workers.
- Complete inspections - slings, eye wash stations, safety binders, AED, forklift pre-use checklists, fire extinguishers, machine guarding.
- Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Review and update Job Risk Assessments.
- Create presentations on safety topics.
- Assist with injury reporting and investigations.
