About the Opportunity
DMI, LLC is seeking a GCP Cloud Architect to join us. This position is onsite 3 days a week in Auburn Hills, MI.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- As a GCP Cloud Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support connected automotive software initiatives for our customers.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure that enhances vehicle connectivity and overall driver experience.
- Cloud Architecture Design: Develop and design GCP-based cloud architecture to support connected automotive software, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
- Implementation and Deployment: Lead the implementation and deployment of cloud solutions, leveraging GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.
- IoT and Connected Devices: Design and implement solutions that integrate IoT devices and connected vehicle systems with GCP cloud infrastructure. Develop strategies to manage and process data from IoT sensors and connected devices. Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to align cloud architecture with business requirements and technical goals.
- Automotive Domain Expertise: Apply your knowledge of the automotive industry and connected automotive software to enhance the design and deployment of cloud solutions tailored to automotive applications.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that cloud solutions meet industry standards for security, data privacy, and compliance. Implement best practices for securing cloud infrastructure and data.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of cloud solutions. Implement strategies to enhance system performance and resource utilization.
- Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP services, tools, and best practices. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance our connected automotive software capabilities.
- Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, processes, and procedures. Provide training and support to internal teams as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Years of Experience:
- 10 years experience in IT
- 5 years experience GCP
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:
- Proven experience as a Cloud Architect with a strong focus on GCP.
- Experience in the automotive industry and familiarity with connected automotive software is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in GCP services, including but not limited to Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and IAM.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, microservices, and containerization.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards in the cloud.
- Expertise in IoT and connected device integration.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication and collaboration abilities, and a proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement.
